Musheer Khan walked out to bat for PBKS as they were reeling 60 for 6, and then he went to the pavilion without troubling the scorers as he got struck in front by Suyash Sharma.

Who is Musheer Khan?

Musheer Khan is a rising Indian cricketer celebrated for his all-round ability and composure beyond his years. A left-handed batter and a left-arm orthodox spinner, he has made rapid strides in domestic cricket and international youth tournaments, drawing attention as a potential future star. Born on February 27, 2005, in Kurla, Mumbai, Maharashtra, Musheer grew up in a cricket-obsessed environment. His father, Naushad Khan, is a former cricketer and coach, and his elder brother, Sarfaraz Khan, is a well-established name in Indian domestic cricket.

Musheer began playing competitive cricket at a very young age. He appeared in the Giles Shield Under-14 tournament when he was just under seven years old and played in Mumbai’s prestigious Kanga League at age eight. His early development was shaped by long hours of training at Azad Maidan, a cradle for Mumbai cricketing talent.

Domestic Career

First-Class Debut:

Musheer made his first-class debut for Mumbai in the Ranji Trophy on December 27, 2022. Within a year, he cemented his place as a dependable top-order batter and a reliable spin option.

Ranji Trophy 2024:

Musheer made headlines with a commanding double century (203*) in the quarterfinals against Baroda. He followed it up with a century in the final against Vidarbha, helping Mumbai secure the title. His performances in the knockout stages underlined his temperament and maturity.

Duleep Trophy 2024:

Representing India B, he played a crucial innings of 181 runs and was involved in a record eighth-wicket partnership worth 205 runs with Navdeep Saini.

International Youth Career Under-19 World Cup 2024: Musheer was a standout performer for India during the tournament, amassing 360 runs in seven matches at an average of 60, including two centuries. He also claimed seven wickets, proving his value as a genuine all-rounder. Under-19 ODI Career: In 14 matches, he scored 554 runs at an average of 61.55 and took 13 wickets. His consistent performances with both bat and ball marked him as one of the most complete players in the tournament.
