RCB’s Win Over LSG Finalizes IPL 2025 Playoff Line-up — Full Fixture Released
The playoff picture for the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) season was already set ahead of the final league-stage match. However, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) still had something to fight for. While LSG had already been eliminated, RCB had a top-two finish in sight — and they achieved it in style.
On Tuesday, RCB, led by stand-in captain Jitesh Sharma, secured a crucial win over LSG, cementing their place in the top two. Chasing an imposing total of 228, RCB got off to a blazing start thanks to Virat Kohli (54 off 30 balls) and Phil Salt (30 off 19), who put up 61 runs in just 34 balls. Jitesh Sharma then took charge, smashing an unbeaten 85, while Mayank Agarwal contributed 41* as they stitched together an unbroken 107-run stand for the fifth wicket. RCB completed the record-breaking chase with eight balls to spare, winning by six wickets.
With this win, RCB ended the league stage second on the points table with 19 points, equal to Punjab Kings, who claimed the top spot due to a superior net run rate. Gujarat Titans secured third place with 18 points, while Mumbai Indians took the final playoff spot with 16 points.
